If “Earth & Sky” is the cult classic, “Young Vines” is the record you actually wear out. Apostolos Thymiopoulos’ entry‑level Xinomavro is one of the best everyday reds on the planet: juicy, fragrant and quietly serious underneath.

Fruit comes from younger, dry‑farmed vines on both the warmer lower slopes and cooler higher parcels around Mount Vermio in Naoussa, where altitude and mountain breezes keep everything fresh and vibrant. Certified organic/biodynamic farming and low‑intervention winemaking mean this is Xinomavro in a pure, unadorned register.

Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in stainless steel and concrete, there’s no oak to hide behind—just bright red fruit, herbs and that signature Xinomavro snap.

In the glass, expect cranberry, cherry and strawberry with rose, violets, tomato leaf, savoury herbs and a gentle spice. It’s medium‑bodied but lifted: high acidity, fine, lightly grippy tannins and a clean, juicy finish that loves a light chill.

This is “Tuesday Barolo energy” without the Barolo price tag—perfect for guests who love Pinot Noir, Nebbiolo or other fresh, structured reds.
